The Irish Medical Council has 25 members. 12 of these are elected by their peers from the Irish Medical Profession; they are elected doctors, in other words.
The other 13, the majority, are appointed by the government; they are non-elected lay people with government affiliations.
The 12 doctor-appointed members tend to be conservatives who canvassed their conservative colleagues for votes to be elected in the first place.
This undemocratic and hopelessly biased conglomerate has adjudged Dr Marcus De Brun of professional misconduct over his remarks on social media about regulations surrounding Covid 19. They referred to it as "Misinformation", according to RTE news.
Dr De Brun saw fit, in his professional judgment, to caution his patients against, for example, the COVID vaccine. That's his job, is it not? To look after his patients' well-being? NO? Well, not according to the Medical Council. It's professional misconduct. And now he faces sanctions.
