Alzheimer's Disease is cruel and unrelenting. It quickly destroys a person's life, stripping them of their personhood and character. In a lifetime, fortunately, it usually strikes later, although it does not always spare the young either.
What makes it even more horrible, if such were possible, is that, in our present state of knowledge, there are no really useful treatments.
So when some glimmer of hope eventually does come along, it is naturally of some considerable interest to Alzheimer sufferers and, in practise, more particularly to their relatives. And this can be said for an emerging treatment for this severe, progressive dementia, called 40 Hertz brain stimulation. This is a low musical sound played into the patient's brain via headphone. You can actually hear it there on YouTube.

There is mounting evidence that by playing 40-Hzs into the brain for prescribed lengths and periods of time, improvements in the severity of Alzheimer's can be achieved.
In this therapy, there is no pharmaceutical product for this greedy industry to get its hands on. Of course, that could explain the delay in it's development.
I have written a book dealing with difficult decisions surrounding serious conditions like Alzheimer. The book is called The Foxhunter.
